Assitej In-Forma

Assitej In-Forma

Conceived in Italy in 2015, In-Forma is a worthwhile opportunity for learning and confrontation, dedicated to artists and live theatre professionals.

The event has an international scope and is organized -in itinerant way- in the main centers of Theatre for Children and Young People in Italy. Every edition is imagined, organized and managed by a single member or by a members’ consortium who let network expertise, knowledge and assets.

Assitej International has welcomed this initiative as “good practice” because of the strong sense of involvement and sharing among participants. In-Forma must always be free from market dynamics and represents a place for sharing, reflection and development of good practices, in order to sow new ideas and engender inspiration for the single member as well as for associative life.

2024

Turin

September 11 to 13, 2024

The ninth edition of Assitej In-Forma revolves around

“Opening up to Others – Reflections on Accessible and Inclusive Theater”.

A path of research and inquiry to help define what inclusion and accessibility mean today in youth theater.

Three main questions will guide the activities of the In-Forma days:

• What is accessibility?

• What technological tools can improve accessibility?

• How can theater and art be accessible?

A reflection on accessibility and inclusion cannot ignore a broad and widespread investigation that identifies barriers and obstacles related to disability, economic and psychological fragility, educational and cultural poverty, without neglecting perceptual and linguistic impediments and all those conditions that do not favor the enjoyment and access to culture.

The goal of the three days in Turin is to try to bring out possible dynamics of change in terms of accessibility and inclusion, not only in the theatrical field.

Curated by Assitej Italia, the event is organized in collaboration with La Fondazione TRG.

Assitej IN-FORMA is an event reserved for members.

Facing the challenges of the two transitions, ecological and technological, which are radically transforming our lives, experiences are developing in various places where theater reclaims spaces. It gives new life and role to theaters, but also makes different places theaters, regenerating their function and relationships, reviving their latent stories or building new ones. The project will develop around the words dwelling and narrating and their relationship, represented by the image of the nest.
